Why are psychedelics still so taboo? Can they really be used to improve our mental health? Is there a place for psychedelics in the fitness world?
We’re sitting down with Albert Garcia-Romeu, Ph.D., a member of the Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, to answer these questions and more.
Dr. Garcia-Romeu studies the effects of psychedelic drugs in humans, with a focus on psilocybin as an aid in the treatment of addiction and PTSD. He tells Sean the history of psychedelics, why they were banned in the first place, and how he hopes they’ll be integrated into our every day life.
