Being a Mudder℠ is all about taking on the obstacles in your life and the enormous sense of accomplishment that you feel when you overcome them.
As a health and fitness expert, there’s nothing I love more than a reason to train and a goal to work towards, which is why I’m a big fan of Tough Mudder. It’s not just your typical running race, but rather an adventure filled with obstacles that challenge you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Plus, let’s not forget that Tough Mudders are also incredibly fun!
Running is almost always better with company, and let’s face it: No one loves hanging out with you more than your dog. In fact, your pooch can even get in on your favorite cardio at a Ruff Mudder event thanks to our friends at CHEWY. So, if you’re looking for a new workout partner, you don’t need to look any further than your four-legged friend.
Tough Mudder obstacles are the biggest and baddest in the business. For nearly 10 years, our Obstacle Design Team has continued to raise the bar and test your will and your courage. So, if you ever feel the natural urge to hesitate before attempting an obstacle, believe me, you are not alone.
WANT TO GET STRONG? Look BEHIND YOU.
If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me how many days per week they should be training their arms or legs, I would be quite well off. But rarely does anyone ask me how many days they should practice strengthening their backs. Ironically, if you look at the data behind the most common reasons why people visit the doctor, it never really has to do with how weak their biceps or calves are; people overwhelmingly see the doctor because they have hurt their backs.
Like all Mudders, you push yourself to the limit in training and on course. You demand a lot from your body, so you've got to treat it with care after a tough workout or obstacle course event. As exercise physiologists learn more about maximizing fitness, they’re beginning to see just how important recovery is to acheiving peak athletic performance.
With so many “new” food rules #trending, it’s easy for Mudders-in-training to get overwhelmed by what they should be doing to fuel their bodies. Three of the most popular eating plans, Keto, Paleo, and Whole30®, all have shown promise for people looking for long-term weight loss, but if you’re living an active and healthy lifestyle and just want to eat right, are they right for you?
Ahh Arctic Enema, a unbelievably shocking thing for Mudders to experience, but incredibly high in entertainment value for spectators! (Matched only by, well, actually shocking people in Electroshock Therapy!)
Need a good laugh? Sit back, turn up the volume, and check out these truly epic reactions to the freezing force of Artic Enema.
