3 Things You Need to Know About 2019 Obstacles

By TMHQ | 8 January, 2019

Just before Christmas we announced our brand new 2019 obstacles, from Tight Squeeze to The Gauntlet we introduced 10 new or updated obstacles and there was something for everyone.

The innovation doesn't stop there though, oh no. Here are the top three things you should know about 2019 obstacles.

1. More Obstacles Than Ever

We listened hard in 2018 Mudder Nation and what we heard was "less running, more obstacles."

That's why this season on both the Tough Mudder 5K and Tough Mudder Classic courses there are more obstacles than ever before (and we're not talking repeating Mud Mile...).

We've also cut down the running distance, bringing you 5K of fun, teamwork and obstacles and 8-10 miles of physical and mental challenge.

2. Choose Your Own Adventure

In 2019 we're introducing Level Up Lanes - not sure what we're talking about? Well, it's a bit like Goldilocks and the three bears.

Taking on the Classic for the first time and feeling a little nervous? There will be a slightly easier version of some of our best-loved obstacles for you to try. Or, perhaps you're a diehard legionnaire that's battled the mud countless times before - no fear we'll have a slightly harder version of your favourite obstacles so you can really push yourself.

Pretty happy with going somewhere in the middle? We've got something for you as well.

3. This Isn't the End of Innovation

Excited for these ten new or updated Tough Mudder obstacles? Great but don't think this is where it ends. We tried and tested a whole host of wacky and wonderful obstacles at the first ever European Beta Testing and over in the US and we're looking forward to dropping in a few surprises here and there.

PLUS just like in 2018 we'll be putting our thinking hats on nice and early to make sure 2020 has some sweet new challenges too. Expect alpha test obstacles to appear this season too.

That enough newness for you Mudder Nation?
