It wasn’t magic, it was pure hard work. In the South West this year, we achieved something historical and never seen before in the UK. We hosted a dual branded weekend in the same venue, where Tough Mudder became Spartan overnight.
Here and now we’re dishing out the behind the scenes about how it all came to be.
Same Venue, Different Vibes
Although the venue of the Badminton Estate didn’t change, everything else did.
Moving from the renowned orange and black of Tough Mudder to the traditional red of Spartan. Over 10,000 participants battled the courses over the weekend and made their mark.
An Overnight Success
You might ask, what’s the secret ingredient and when did this changeover happen? We’ll make no bones about it. The secret spice was working through the night.
Working on swapping over everything so that people could go to sleep as a Mudder and wake up as a Spartan.

Double Downing
The gauntlet was set this weekend, the brave, the determined and the truly crazy ones had the opportunity to double down on the weekend. Conquering a Tough Mudder and a Spartan course in the same weekend.
Never before has it been available in the UK, but we saw Mudders and Spartans unite this weekend to sample and crossover.
