How Long is the Tough Mudder course?
Tough Mudder Classic is one massively muddy 8-10 mile loop with 25 epic obstacles. Tough Mudder 5K packs the same mud-soaked mayhem into a shorter distance with 13 obstacles. (What is a 5K in miles, you ask? 3.1). Fancy trying our world-class obstacles in the heart of city centres? You can choose between the 5K or 10K Tough Mudder City courses.
How Long Will it Take?
The average finish time for a Tough Mudder 5K is 1-2 hours; for Tough Mudder Classic it’s 3.5-4 hours. That said, Tough Mudder 5K and Tough Mudder Classic and aren’t timed races, so your team can go at its own pace. And how long an event will take you depends on your level of fitness, your experience, and whether or not you’ve been training.
How Hard is Tough Mudder?
Tackling a Tough Mudder is a different challenge for everyone, whether you’re taking on the 5K or going for the Classic. Tough Mudder events are designed to test your all-around fitness, but that alone won’t get you through—you’ll also need a ton of teamwork to overcome the obstacles and complete the course. How Much Running is There at Tough Mudder?
That depends on your event: Tough Mudder 5K is 3 miles long, while Tough Mudder Classic is one 8-10 mile loop, depending on the event location. But any all-out sprinting (or jogging…or walking…these events aren’t timed, you can go at your own pace) will be broken up by our world-class obstacles. Want to raise your running game? Can You Do Tough Mudder Alone? Do I Need Team?
You’ll need help from your fellow Mudders to conquer some of Tough Mudder’s most insane obstacles, but you DON’T need a team to register for a Tough Mudder event, thanks to our new Solo Runner Waves. Just register, then follow the instructions to “join a team” and search for “Solo Runners”.
How do I Join a Team?
If you want to run at the same time as your friends and family you will need to create and join a team in Active. Once you have booked your tickets a team captain will need to login to Active and create a team, the other members of the team will then need to sign into Active and join the team.
What Should I Wear to Tough Mudder?
1. A good pair of running shoes (that you’re not too attached to) with good cushioning, traction, and drainage.
2. Form-fitting, light weight, breathable gear (always check the weather and adjust accordingly).
What Should I Bring to Tough Mudder?
1. A Positive Attitude
2. ID + your ticket (printed or screenshot)
3. Trainers
4. Change of Clothing + Shoes
5. Sun cream
6. Plastic Bag (for wet, muddy gear)
7. Money for extra snacks and awesome merch (all of our vendors accept contactless payment)
Is There a Minimum Age to Complete Tough Mudder?
Yes—Tough Mudder 5K participants must be at least 13 years old and Tough Mudder Classic participants must be at least 14 years old. The events in the competitive series are all 18+. Mini Mudder participants must be aged 5-12.

Any participant under the age of 18 taking part in the Tough Mudder 5K or Tough Mudder Classic events will need to be accompanied on course by a chaperone who is 18+ years older.
What Happens on Event Day?
All of that training and preparing for Tough Mudder might leave you wondering what the actual day will be like. If you need any assitance on the day or have any questions just head to the Info Tent.
How Do I Buy Parking, Bag Drop and Other Add-Ons?
Event add-ons such as parking, bag drop and premium waves such as Tougher Mudder and First Mud can all be purchased through Active once you have bought a Tough Mudder participant ticket.
Are Dogs Allowed at the Event?
In 2019 dogs are allowed on-site at Tough Mudder events with spectators, however please make sure you keep your dog on a lead and supervised at all times and make sure you clean up after it.
Will There Be Food and Water on Course at Tough Mudder?
Yes, Tough Mudder will have 4-6 water stations along the course, and there’s food for sale throughout the day. If you have food allergies or specific diet requirements, you will be allowed to bring in small snacks, but otherwise, no outside food is allowed into the event.
How Do I Get my Photos From the Event?
