UPDATE – 4.17.23

Mudders,
The start of the 2024 Endurance Series season is under a month away – meaning that a responsible athlete should be well into their training regimen, while the unhinged delinquents of Mudder Nation are just beginning to thoughtlessly dust off their gear.
We have a few major updates and announcements in store for the series this year, so please read up carefully (or don’t say we didn’t warn you).

Tough Mudder Infinity:

Distance achievement awards have been extended to 80km
All penalties will now be administered at the Race Center, with a wristband system for tracking failed obstacles
The rules for the 15km course cutoff have changed. All 15km loops started prior to 1:45pm will have the duration of the event to complete their 15km lap.
Start pushed back to 7:45

Toughest Mudder:

Exclusive Toughest Mudder finisher tees are back

World’s Toughest Mudder:

The rules pertaining to Contender status have been overhauled:
- We are returning to a single leaderboard for 2024. Runners with Open, Contender, and Elite Contender status will all compete for the same podium and age group awards
- Golden Carabiner challenges, formerly only available to Open participants, will be available to all participants; however, these challenges will remain optional and will be rewarded with merit badges instead of a course bypass.
- Contender and Elite Contender qualification will still provide a number of perks:
  - Exclusive Contender/Elite Contender bibs
  - First selection of pit spaces
  - Priority access to the front of the start corral
  - Contender/Elite Contender status can now only be earned through in-year achievements at Infinity or Toughest events. The only exception to this rule is prior top 10 overall finishers in the Male/Female categories, which will prequalify for Elite Contender status
- The following qualification standards apply for 2024:
  - Tough Mudder Infinity:
    - Contender:
      - Female: 40km; Male: 45km
      - Masters Female: 35km; Masters Male: 40km
    - Elite Contender:
      - Female: 65km; Male: 70km
  - Toughest Mudder:
    - Contender:
      - Female: 50km; Male 60km
      - Masters Female: 40km; Masters Male: 50km
    - Elite Contender:
      - Female: 70km; Male: 90km
The WTM Awards Brunch venue has been officially selected – and it’s at the Reunion Grounds in Granbury,Texas. If you’ve been waiting to book your tickets and accommodations – now’s the time.
As an homage to the ultra endurance roots of WTM, we’re officially debuting an exclusive WTM belt buckle. We won’t share the exact mileage you’ll need to hit to earn it just yet, but we recommend training… hard.

Unholy Grail Updates

The Unholy Grail will be making a triumphant return this year, with some modified rules
- Available at all three global Toughest Mudder events (Midlands, Twin Cities, and Pittsburgh)
- In order to qualify, athletes must complete:
  - Tough Mudder 15K on Saturday
  - Tough Mudder 5K on Saturday
  - Toughest Mudder – minimum of 40km
  - Tough Mudder 10K on Sunday
  - Tough Mudder 5K on Sunday
For those keeping score at home – that’s a minimum of 75km in exchange for a really cool scrap of metal.

WHAT IS THE HOLY GRAIL?

The Holy Grail is your prize for successfully finishing one of each Endurance Series event in the same calendar year – including Tough Mudder Infinity, Toughest Mudder, and World’s Toughest Mudder.

HOW DO I EARN A SPOT ON THE HOLY GRAIL LEADERBOARD?

We keep a running tally of all mileage completed at Tough Mudder Infinity, Toughest Mudder, and World’s Toughest Mudder within a calendar year. The leaderboard is updated a few days after each Endurance Series event to reflect the current standings. At the end of the year, the winners will earn a Season Pass Plus and a custom embroidered jacket.
