This May, we’re supporting Mental Health Awareness Month and the 2024 theme of movement. Yep, that means getting active, taking a stroll in the park or simply taking the stairs instead of a lift up to the office – it’s not just about hitting the gym and setting a PB.
Turns out, physical fitness can be a real game-changer for our mental well-being, helping us shake off life’s pressures and decreasing stress on the brain. Science backs this up too.
So, let’s lace up those trainers, hit the pavement and join the conversation about mental health this month.
Four ways to move more during Mental Health Awareness Month:
1. Get advice from the experts
Our charity partner Mind has some useful resources and information to show how physical activity can positively help your mental health including tips for choosing an activity that works for you, and how to overcome anything that might stop you from becoming more active.
Check it out: HERE
2. Find your next healthy addiction:
Feeling swamped, unsure where to start? There’s a reason the Tough Mudder community is so widespread and unique: we thrive on teamwork and camaraderie – and that’s what makes us stand out. No Mudder is ever left alone. Let’s not also forget the Tough Mudder course itself: it’s our ultimate form of self-care, leaving you feeling stronger, braver, and more fulfilled than when you began.
Hear Maria’s story and how the Mudder community spirit helped overcome her PTSD. Read more, here.
3. Fancy a creative challenge?
It may take a little pre-planning, but why not get creative with your routes? In collaboration with our mental health charity partner: Mind, complete your run, share it with us on Instagram using the #TMMHAM24 and you could be randomly selected to win a prize.

4. Share Your Story
Need to get something off your chest? Share your story. Tell us your why and your reasons for putting movement and activity at the forefront of your mind this month. May is all about you. Who knows, you may also be the inspiration someone else needs to get started. Please get in touch.
