It doesn’t matter whether you’re a regular Mudder or you’ve done it once and only follow our Instagram page to laugh at people falling in mud. The Tough Mudder community is a great way of staying connected during an increasingly isolating period of time.
What is Mudder Nation?
A lot of brands talk about having a community but we have the best one (we’re really not joking). You might have seen some Tough Mudder tattoos or heard stories of people running hundreds of events and they’re probably true – but it’s a lot more than that. Our community is passionate and dedicated but it is also a place for people to go. A place where lifelong friendships and bonds have been forged. To be honest, it’s taken on a life of its own that goes way beyond what we do as a brand, but we’re pretty damn proud of it anyway.
Mudder Nation encapsulates all the people who get involved with Tough Mudder. Whether that’s someone who is only thinking about getting muddy, a legionnaire, or even someone who has a Tough Mudder tattoo.
How Can I Get Involved?
So you’re sitting at home and wondering how everyone else seems to be virtually socialising non-stop? Here are all of the ways you can get involved with Mudder Nation.
Tough Mudder on Social Media
The obvious one. If you want to get involved with all things Mudder Nation then social media is a great place to start. We have our own channels where we’re sharing workouts and funny videos. You can find us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Strava where the community is often hanging out and answering questions alongside TMHQ.
Within our Tough Mudder UK Facebook page you can also get involved in a few different ways. There’s our Training Group if you’re spending lockdown working out or our event pages (there’s one for every 2020 event) if you’d rather be looking forward to your next adventure.
We love to engage with our community on these channels in a whole host of ways but we especially like to hear from you (otherwise we’re just talking to ourselves…hello…). If you want to get involved then answer our polls and questions, comment and tell us what you want to see more of, or corner your cat and snap her in a headband for extra kudos.
Facebook Groups
There’s also lots of Facebook groups run by our legionnaires, this is where the Virtual Tough Mudder was born which says it all really. From reminiscing on-course good times to sharing quarantine selfies there’s always someone around to chat with, check out the Tough Mudder UK Legionnaires or go global and try Tough Mudder Legionnaires.
If you’re not feeling yourself (and let’s be honest, who is?) we can also recommend Mudder Minds a Facebook group set up by Tough Mudder volunteer Sam Hopper with the purpose of creating a space for open and respectful conversations around mental health.
Tough Mudder Challenges
We’re all missing the social interaction that we get on Tough Mudder courses around the UK. Whether it’s laughing with the mates we came with or adopting a solo runner we’ve never met it’s these connections which really make our events special. Obviously we can’t recreate the physical closeness of tackling obstacles side-by-side but we can rekindle some of that feeling, if we choose to face a new kind of adventure together. Enter Tough Mudder Challenges.
The Ambassador Team
On both sides of the pond we have incredible ambassadors who (among other things) help to bridge the gap between Mudder Nation and TMHQ. If you have any kind of question, whether it’s about how to get involved in Tough Mudder or how to start talking to the community these guys are a great place to start. You’ll see them posting on our social media pages and they will always be happy to chat to you. Already a legionnaire but want to take a step up? Keep an eye out
