Some call it sport. Some call it fun. Many call it sheer madness. Every year thousands of Mudders leave their comfort zone behind to ‘enjoy’ our range of unusual obstacles. From swimming through crushed ice to wading through liquid mud and of course, our favourite “running through a jungle of dangling wires that zap you with electric shocks” it’s safe to say we really do have it have all.
As we approach our new season of 2023 we thought it would be a great chance to fill you guys in on how our 2023 obstacles are tougher than ever.
How tough are we talking?
TOUGH.
Sat watt*? ⚡
We are increasing the number of wires on EST so your chances of getting hit whilst dashing through 10,000 volts of electricity… will be a lot higher. So psych up (a battle cry may help) and charge straight into the belly of the beast.
Oh did we forget to mention… on Electric Eel too 😉
You’re removing what?
We may have gone a little soft over the years so this year so we have decided to remove the wooden cleat on Pyramid Scheme.
TEAMWORK will be everything here.
Muddy Hell
This year we are lowering the barbed wires on Kiss of Mud. It’s time to get close (real close) and personal with the mud.
GOOD LUCK.
Return of the hump
Remember the hump on Everest? Think of it as your good friend because we are removing all sections without them❌
How to tackle this obstacle
- PUMP YOUR ARMS: You’re going to need to build momentum, so start from as far back as possible and pump your arms and legs to really help you explode up the face of the obstacle and conquer Everest.
- AIM FOR THE HANDS: Keep your eyes on the prize.
- DON’T JUMP TOO EARLY.
Giving all the chills
Brace yourselves as this year we are topping up Arctic Enema more than ever with ice. We suggest you breathe deeply and stay calm with this one… if you can 🥶
How to tackle this obstacle
1. MUDDER THE %$&# UP
2. DON’T FREEZE
3. KEEP ‘EM MOVIN
4. CLIMB DOWN, WARM UP
I WANT TO SEE MORE
If you want to check out all of our other obstacles that will be appearing on course you can do so HERE.
The bottom line is this is not a race to the finishing line but a test of endurance – both physical and mental. As long as you embrace everything involved, a Tough Mudder isn’t beyond anyone’s capabilities.
So, be brave… For all the pain, it can be muddy, good fun and richly rewarding.
