So you think that monkey bars are for children, and that slides belong in parks? Think again.
Tough Mudder knows that the easiest looking obstacles can cause the biggest trouble. Each course is designed to test your physical fitness and your mental strength — that means not only pushing your body to the max, but conquering your worst fears: heights, water, electric shocks, fire, you name it.
We put together a poll on our EU Instagram and asked you our MUDDER NATION what top 5 obstacles make you scream the most. Check out the answers below.
THE RESULTS…
ARCTIC ENEMA
Giving scream factor 1/5 we are giving this a 4. Plenty of athletes use ice baths for recovery, so splashing your way through some chilly water should be a cakewalk, right? Wrong. The freezing cold temperatures makes your body react in unexpected ways. Loss of breath? YES. Contracted muscles? YES. Tough Mudder course designers describe it, “Like eating too much ice cream and getting kicked in the balls at the same time.” OUCH this is one to make you scream… Learn more about Arctic Enema here.
CAGE CRAWL
Is Cage Crawl that scary? YES. Being trapped in water will most defiantly get you screaming. This obstacle will test your mental fortitude more than your physical strength. Learn more about Cage Crawl here.
ELECTROSHOCK THERAPY
Dashing through 10,000 volts of electricity will sure get you screaming. Just close you eyes, run and think of the bevs you can enjoy after this finisher obstacle. Learn more about Electroshock Therapy here.
ELECTRIC EEL
Ahh yes this obstacle is a screamer. Similar to EST but think water and slow crawling…there’s no way your getting out of this one. Mudders will need to drop to the ground, channel their inner eel and slither the length of the obstacle and attempt to dodge the wires. There is no doubt that you will hear plenty of screams at this one. Learn more about Electric Eel here.
EVEREST
Take a deep breath and a running start to reach the summit of Everest. Although you wont be screaming your fellow mudders will be. This tricky obstacle may take a few attempts but once you reach the top you will feel like your on cloud 9. Learn more about Everest here.
