2017 Tough Mudder Half Obstacles
The Block Ness Monster
Take a turn on the industry’s highest-rated teamwork obstacle of all time: The Block Ness Monster. Push, pull, and roll your way through slick, rotating barriers, with plenty of laughs along the way. Take teamwork to a whole new level, all with a little help from your friends.
Unlike its namesake, this obstacle is all about teamwork. How you use it is up to you: give someone a boost, reach up for a helping hand, or climb a stack of Mudders. Whichever way you tackle it, we guarantee you’ll top this pyramid with a smile.
We Mudder-ized this mighty mountain, and it’s better than ever. This slick quarter pipe is over 15’ tall, with a recurved top to make it extra hard to get that handhold. Aim for the top and let your fellow Mudders help you get there.
Kiss of Mud 2.0®
Commonly the first obstacle on a Tough Mudder Half course, Kiss of Mud 2.0 puts you down in the muck right from the start. With less than 18” of clearance between tangled rows of barbed wire above and the mud floor below, there’s nowhere to move but forward. So embrace it and try not to get your tutu tangled.
Mud Mile 2.0
This obstacle is a classic Tough Mudder Half fan favorite, with a few little tweaks to ensure no one comes out clean. We’ve dug the pits deeper, mounded them higher, and cut the angles steeper than ever before in this 2.0 remake. If you don’t start this obstacle with a team, you’ll come out with one.
You’ve already been through this obstacle once, but here’s a second chance to keep it fresh in your memory. Crawl and push your way through a gauntlet of sloshing, weighted barriers to find freedom on the other side. You’ll be glad it’s over, and glad you tried it.
How do you scale a 9’ 6” vertical wall? With a little help from your friends, that’s how. Grab a boost from a fellow Mudder, or be a hero and muscle-up all by yourself -- but remember, the real heroes are the ones who help those down below.
Skidmarked may not be as tall as its cousin Berlin Walls, but its 45-degree angle makes it just as challenging and even more fun. Without a foothold, you’ll have to find another way to scale this obstacle: better have a teammate up above, down below, or a pair of wings.
Shaped like a moon crater filled with treacherous shoe-stealing, unforgiving mud, Quagmire is a mud puddle it’ll be easy to step into, but the way back out won’t be so simple. You can crawl, scramble, or climb a chain of Mudders back out, but we make no promises about your footwear.
Starting with a barbed wire low crawl, this obstacle ups the ante as Mudders shimmy through a culvert pipe and find themselves perched at the end of a 5’ drop into a pool of water below. Falling gracefully isn’t really an option, so hold your nose and try not to lose your costume on the way down.
