Prepare to be amazed by the incredible story of Paddy Simpson, who defied all odds by conquering an entire Tough Mudder course while blindfolded.
Get ready to dive into the extraordinary journey that led him to this remarkable achievement.
Why?
My sister in law had not long been diagnosed with cancer so I thought about raising some money for the cancer charity Myeloma UK.
I decided to do the Europe’s Toughest Mudder because I’ve never done it before and thought it will be good to challenge myself.
One of my friends came up with the idea of doing a 15k Tough Mudder the next morning, So jokingly I said I might as well do it blindfolded because I’ll probably be running around asleep.
That is where the idea came from.
What challenges did you face?
When running the course blindfolded I was aching and tired from running the 40K the night before and the uneven ground was a nightmare.
The hardest obstacle by far was Mudderhorn not knowing where to put my feet and knowing there’s a massive drop below me was incredible tough.
Will you be returning?
I can’t wait to get back in the mud and earn my 20th headband.
