For the first time ever outside of the United States, the most extreme, heart-pumping, 24-hour obstacle course event on the planet, World’s Toughest Mudder, will make its UK debut this June at Belvoir Castle in Grantham. First up on the Trip Agenda: Pulling an All-Nighter at Belvoir Castle
Just under 10 kilometres west of the UK’s town of Grantham in an area teeming with historic estates and manors, Belvoir Castle towers above vast, rolling grassy hills; dense woodlands; technical trails; and the occasional steep incline or decline that will demand your utmost endurance and strength. Plus, the varied terrain and ever-present risk of rain creates the perfect setting for deep, muddy pits and water-filled trenches. Now, how about an all-nighter?
This year’s World’s Toughest Mudder will feature a 8-kilometre course that you’ll complete as many times as you can in 24 hours – but you didn’t think we’d stop there, did you? It’s age-old running wisdom to never go out too hot for an endurance event, so – naturally – we’ve made the first lap an obstacle-free sprint, and if you’re in a relay, your entire team must tackle the first and last laps together.
World’s Toughest Mudder is notorious for obstacle innovation, and this year is certainly no exception: On-course, top-secret obstacles won’t be revealed until the pre-race briefing, new obstacles and tweaks will appear every hour out on the course, and during the “witching hour” of 3-4 a.m., we’ll pull out all the stops to make sure you’ve never conquered obstacles like these. That’s before we even get onto the crafty, mentally-punishing penalties you’ll experience if you skip an obstacle. We really hope you’re not afraid of the dark…
Then, Make It a Muddy, Memorable Week

Surrounding the castle, Engine Yard features weekend pastimes and libations within minutes of one another, and you can enjoy a proper English breakfast and live music at the Belvoir Bistro, sift through seasonal specialties from the Belvoir Farmshop, and take the entire family to Belvoir’s Adventure Playground – a four-acre playground for kids (and – of course – those who are still kids at heart).
