The toughest, most anticipated event of the year, World’s Toughest Mudder, was a smash hit. We saw more inventive obstacles, record-high laps completed, and unforgettable thrills that made it an event for the books. We’re sharing the highlights to tide you over and get you amped for next year’s World’s Toughest Mudder UK debut. (Yes, we still have a few tricks up our sleeve…)
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS
Our Mudders went to hell and back to achieve inspiring feats this weekend. Special shoutout to our individual first-place winners, Nikki Caromba and Michael Schjøtt.
Nikki ran an ultra-impressive 95 miles in 24 hours and 26 minutes and became the first-ever South African (male or female) to podium at World’s.
Michael ran a jaw-dropping 115 miles in 24 hours and 39 minutes, tying the WTM record for most miles, and becoming the first to run this distance since 2021.
For the relay race, team Mountain Men secured the gold. This duo clocked in 125 miles, tying the WTM all-time team mileage record of 125 miles, previously set by Two Lokos in 2021. Huge congratulations to Tyler Veerman and Mark Gaudet, who beat out countless teams of four to claim this title.
Congratulations to those who podiumed, and everyone who attended—give yourself a pat on the back. If your arms aren’t too sore, that is.

OBSTACLES LIKE NEVER BEFORE
As if the mud wasn’t enough, we threw sand on the course to shake things up. (We know you Mudders secretly loved the added difficulty.) And Shawshanked was a fan-favorite obstacle, where Mudders were positively splashed from head to toe.
Don’t worry, we also brought back the classics—with a twist worthy of World’s, of course. We dialed up the difficulty with Pyramid Squeeze (think Pyramid Scheme covered with a large cargo net), Reborn (involved crawling through an enclosed Cry Baby covered by a water-filled liner), and Cladder to Hell (picture Ladder to Hell with cladded ply and rope to scale up the face). Never ones to back down from a challenge, our Mudders tackled each obstacle with more determination and teamwork than ever before.
BETTER THAN YOUR AVERAGE REWARDS
We know Mudders love their bling, so we stepped up our medal game this year. The World’s Toughest Mudder medals appear cracked and worn, representing the long journey it took you to earn it. Top it off with your finisher tee, bib, and headband, and you’ve got the whole package.
275 HOLY GRAIL CHAMPIONS
And the awards don’t stop there. We had 275 Holy Grail Champions participate! That’s over 44 hours EACH of sweat, endurance, determination, and mud throughout the 2024 season.
WORLD’S TOUGHEST MUDDER HEADS FOR U.K. SOIL
It’s your first chance to win a Holy Grail abroad: World’s Toughest Mudder is jumping across the pond in June 2025. One of our favourite U.K. venues, Belvoir Castle will get a muddy makeover for the most insane weekend of the year.
You can race individually, or grab your muddy buddies and form a team. Not sure you want to go all-in? You can also join the pit crew and help cheer your friends on along the way.
