Event Information

create your team - Bring Your Friends

This might be a new look for Tough Mudder but our core values are the still same and you’re going to need a team to see you over our obstacles. Make sure you create your team no later than two weeks before the event (two Mondays prior) to ensure your friends and family head out on course at the same time as you.

Start Times and Teams

Can I run with my friends/family?

Absolutely, Tough Mudder is all about teamwork and running as part of a team is all part of the fun. When you register online, select your preferred start time window (your final start time will be emailed to you 1 week before the event), and make sure you register yourselves as an official team at least 1 week before the event. Start times are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Please arrive 45 minutes before your assigned start time (which you will receive via email 1 week before your event) to ensure you can check in, drop your bag, and head towards the start line in plenty of time. Start times will be strictly enforced so don’t be late.

If your friends and family register separately, ensure they select the same start time window and ensure they are added to our official team.

Please note: Due to high demand, some participants may be assigned a different start time to the one you requested at registration. Unfortunately, wave sizes are limited for safety reasons, and we may not be able to accommodate any changes.

Event Day Information

What to Bring

1. A valid photo ID*

You’ll need this to check in so don’t forget it at home.

2. Signed waiver

Print your waiver and bring it with you to check in.

3. Participant Eventbrite Ticket

Print it or have it ready on your phone.

4. Start Time Confirmation Email

Print it and bring it along. Your start time will be sent along with your start time the week before the event, but if you don’t receive it, click here to look up your time.

5. Cash

For bag drop and the super tasty food available in Mudder Village.

What to Wear

You will be tackling huge obstacles but you won’t be getting wet or muddy. That means comfortable gym clothes and trainers are a must, but you won’t need a change of clothes and definitely no spikes or football boots.
Take note of the weather before you leave, if it’s cold you might want to bring an extra jumper for the journey home and if it’s sunny slap on some suncream (anything can happen in the UK).

Bag Drop

A tent will be available for you to store your bag whilst you’re taking part. Whilst entry to the tent will be controlled, all items are left at your own risk. The bag drop costs £3 (cash or contactless) with proceeds going to our charity partner Help for Heroes.

How to Get To Holyrood Park

We’re in Edinburgh folks. Getting to Tough Mudder has never been so easy.

Public transport links around Holyrood Park are awesome. You can get the bus from Edinburgh Waverly Train Station or wallk over in under 20 mins. You can plan your bus route at the Lothian Buses website.

Once you arrive at the park, signage or volunteers will be available to help you find your way to the event village – located only a short walk from all the stations mentioned above.

There will be no parking organised by Tough Mudder for TM5K events. There may be local parking available but it’s your responsibility to find and organise parking if needed.

Free Spectators

Yeah, you read that right – spectators get in for FREE at Tough Mudder 5K events. That means your mum, dad, partner, the entire extended family and your next door neighbour can all come and experience the excitement of Mudder Village and cheer you on.

What’s more, all the most exciting obstacles will be within touching distance of Mudder Village, so there’s no chance of them missing you (or not taking enough photos). Plus they can enjoy the street food and a few drinks to celebrate as well.

Course Information

The Tough Mudder 5K course will circle around the Mudder Village so that all your friends and family can see you tackle all the best obstacles. The obstacles will be evenly spaced around the course so you won't have to run continuously for very long.
